About Us

Northern Lights formed in 2005, and performs classic rock hits from the 70s and 80s. The band combines the talent of five veteran musicians with many years of combined road experience and collectively thousands of gigs under their belt.

One of the band’s most positive assets is their vocal ability. Usually, the most frequent audience comment the band hears is…… “It’s great that all of you can sing”. Northern Lights prides itself in smooth harmonies and accurate musical replication.

Northern Lights has carefully selected it’s repertoire to include classic rock hits not often performed by other groups….. “Baby Blue” by Badfinger, “Nights in White Satin” by The Moody Blues, “Show Me the Way” by Peter Frampton, “Carry On My Wayward Son” by Kansas and “Blue Collar Man” by Styx to name a few.

If the band has a mission statement, it is to push the audience’s “emotion button”. “It is truly cool to move someone emotionally with your music…. be it happy or sad - whatever. It’s a gift we want to use as long as we have it” states Tony Campione, Lead Guitarist / Vocalist.

You should always watch for Northern Lights, they could be just down the street tonight!!

NORTHERN LIGHTS IS:

Scott Allen - Drums / Percussion / Vocals scott.jpg

On drums is one of the founding members of Northern Lights - Scott Allen. Scott has the unique ability to breathe life into any song he is playing. With a powerful playing style and years of playing experience, Scott is a much sought after player here in upstate New York. Most known for his stint with the band Southern Grace, Scott is at home playing anything from country to Rush and back. Scott’s lead vocal ability in addition to his excellent drumming puts him in a class all his own.

Kevin Besig – Guitar / Vocalskevin.jpg

On guitar and vocals is Kevin Besig. Traveling New England in the seventies, you may have caught Kevin performing in “London”, the British Invasion tribute band. Kevin has a smooth voice and especially has a gift for arranging songs and harmonies. Kevin is also the band’s “Beatles Specialist.” You would be hard pressed to find a performer anywhere who can sing and play The Beatles any better. You might have also watched Kevin performing in Shylock and COD in the 80’s; both bands known for painstakingly accurate covers of songs.

Tony Campione – Lead Guiatar / VocalsNLTone.jpg

On lead guitar and vocals is Tony Campione. Beginning his career in the seventies with Kevin in the band London, Tony traveled New England extensively. Tony then moved into the eighties with such rock bands as Sonar and Max, then as Tone a single performer for several years, then on to guitar duties as a member of Reflections, Network, and O2 before rejoining Kevin in Northern Lights in 2006.

Mike Marzullo - Bassist / VocalsMarz.jpg

Holding down the bottom end of the band is bassist/vocalist Mike Marzullo. Mike toured the Midwest and East Coast from Canada to Florida, and all points in between with The New York Flyers in the 80's. The Flyers toured with Black Sabbath, Pat Benetar, Loverboy, Eddie Money and many others. Since The Flyers first reunion show at Turning Stone in 2004, Mike has had the itch to perform again - and it’s exciting as hell because he brings so much to the stage. His bass playing is rock solid and his vocal range is out of sight! So…..we decided to celebrate by adding more Styx, Kansas, Night Ranger, and other challenging rock vocals that you don't hear performed live very often.

Mike Marro – Keyboards / Backing VocalsmikeSilv.jpg

On keyboards is Mike Marro. Mike spends some time with backing vox, but primarily focuses on getting the keyboard parts sounding like the artist wrote them. He draws from his years of musical study and his experience of playing 7 different instruments to make sure instrumental parts are just right. Mike has played the Northeast with bands such as The Alligators, The Outsiders and Special Edition. Mike has also appeared on original project recordings for many artists since the late 80s, including Big Krush, The Cellar Dwellars and Emerald Flare.
